Welcome to the homepage of Reading LGBT, one of the most diverse and exciting societies/liberation groups at Reading LGBT. We are the society for gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans students of the University of Reading, and it's our job to represent you and your interests.
We meet regularly three times a week:
The main meeting is at 7:30pm on Tuesdays in Palmer Building, Room 108, where we aim to provide a range of activities. These could be presentations or talks by Reading LGBT members or guest speakers from other organisations, informal discussions, showings of movies and lots of other things too. Don? forget about the free Skittles or M&Ms.
On Wednesday afternoons we have a 'coffee social' where we meet up for a drink and a chat, a great chance to get to know people in a quiet and laid-back environment.
If you're looking for something more energetic then maybe you'll like our weekend socials. These vary from trips to the Granby and other local venues to going further afield to places like London and Manchester. We also have day trips to places like the theatre or the cinema, and engage in activities such as bowling and Lazer Quest. These are normally on a Saturday, but some socials do occur on a Friday evening or on a Weekday.
Make sure to check our What's On section to find out what we?l be doing on Tuesday or when the next social is.
We also have a blog and a forum. The forum is a good place to leave suggestions and have your say about where the next social should be, or post any ideas for the weekly meetings. There? also general news and discussions going on so post away.
You can find us on Facebook. Why not join our Facebook group, and you can keep track of who's attending all those socials.
If you join our mailing list, we'll also send you emails regarding what's on
We look forward to seeing you!
